Its a sad fact that so many would be photographers never get past the visual start line, simply because they overlook what appears to them to be the obvious. By that I mean, they pay scant regard to the complete image concentrating on their camera control and prime visual subject leaving the rest of their image to look after itself. This article explains the importance scanning the entire visual scene, not bits and pieces of it that appear important at the time.
