Because people no longer have to wait for film to be processed and returned, the digital camera market continues to grow. Not having to use film means that the cameras can actually be considerably smaller with only the batteries dictating the actual size. A great advantage over the older film system is how easily the images can be stored using a computer or other mass storage device.
